Tanzania Mission Trip 2011 Updates
Date: Thursday, November 24, 2011, 9:07 PM
Dear Prayer Partners,
During this season of Thanksgiving we just want to let you know that we're thankful for you! We truly can't thank you enough for your prayers during our recent mission trip to Tanzania!! It was an amazing adventure with God that we are extremely grateful for. Your prayers were very evident in the protection, stamina, wisdom, courage, and joy that we experienced during our time of ministry there. It was a very special joy to participate in the dedication celebration of the new church house at Ipogolo. Many guests were present including friends from previous trips which provided some sweet reunions . Around 250 attended the dedication service and fellowship meal afterwards. "Bwana asifwe" (Praise the Lord) was repeated frequently! It was a time of really praising God for what He did and those He used to make the new church house a reality. A final highlight for us was getting to take Pastor Osiana, his two daughters, and our new friend Emmy to a game park to see some of the animals Tanzania is so famous for. It was the first time for all of them . What a joy it was to see God's awesome creatures through their eyes! We look forward to how God will guide regarding the next mission venture to Tanzania. We have a standing invitation to return . "Mungu akipenda tuta onana tena" was our parting greeting (God willing, we will see each other again).
"Thanks for Giving" your time to uplift us in prayer,
Angie and Joelene

Habari za jioni? (How are you this evening?)
We are grateful to have a moment to update you all on our ministry adventures here in Tanzania. This past week we enjoyed making morning visits to homes in Ipogolo, passing out 450 Swahili versions of the book of John and prayer waling bega kwa bega (shoulder to shoulder) with members of Ipogolo Baptist Church family. During the afternoons we got to lead after school Bible classes assisted by several of the OWT students. We began with 30 participants on Monday, grew to 60 on Tuesday, then 80 cam on Wednesday, 100 were there on Thursday, and 116 showed up on Friday!! Word about all of the fun really spread among the watoto (children) .
We got a break this morning to rest and catch our breath. This afternoon we joined the older OWT students for their weekly Bible study. What a joy it was to see them taking leadership as young men! "Growing up" looks good on them!! During their prayer time they thanked God for the ones in America who help and pray for them.
Tomorrow is a BIG Day! Ipogolo is hosting a dedication service for their new church!!! Lots of guests are coming to help, special choirs will sing and a meal will be served. Everyone is excited and busy preparing. We are so glad that we get to be here for the celebration. We are also grateful to share this journey with you and appreciate your faithful prayer support.
Asante Sana Sana (Thank You Very, Very Much!)

Dear Prayer Partners,
We (and our luggage) arrived safely to Dar on Friday afternoon after 2 days of traveling. Bill and Pauline picked us up and we enjoyed a much needed night of rest stretched out on real beds . Saturday we journeyed 8 hours in their Nissan Patrol to Iringa with only one adventure along the way. Bill's summary says it best, "Other than having a flat tire in front of a herd of elephants, and my nearly getting hit by a truck while changing said tire, the trip was smooth as silk! It did remind me how quickly conditions can change and how fragile and precious life is." Your prayers for protection were very evident! Sunday we enjoyed leading the children's class assisted by some of the OWT boys and brought greetings to the church family at Ipogolo during worship. In the afternoon we got to help with the house church at Isakalilo where approximately 55 were gathered...all but 5 were children ; what a joy it was! Today began with visiting and prayer walking in the community around Ipogolo and ended with the after school Bible class with 25 participating and several of the boys assisting again. We are tired but so richly blessed to be here.
We appreciate your continued prayers...Mungu akubariki (God bless you)!
