Celebrate Recovery

THURSDAY NIGHTS
Celebrate Recovery meets at Calvary Baptist Church, 577 Walnut Street in Elko every Thursday night, 52-weeks a year, including holidays.

MAIN SESSION & OPEN SHARE GROUPS:
6:00-6:30 p.m. – BBQ/Pizza Dinner
Join us early for dinner at a great price. When the weather is nice, we're under the pine trees at the Annex (corner of 5th & Walnut Streets). When the weather is cold and wet, join us in the BrightPath facility (6th Street entrance).

6:30-7:30 p.m. – Main Session
Everyone meets together in the BrightPath facility (Calvary's old sanctuary), which is adjacent to the church library, for a time of worship and teaching or testimony. Again, when the weather is nice, we'll meet at the Annex.

7:30-8:30 p.m. – Open Share Groups
This is a time to break into recovery specific groups for men and women to deal with a variety of issues. As we grow, other groups will be added.

8:30-9:00 p.m. – Calvary Café
Held in the BrightPath facility, this is a great time to fellowship with others from your group. Join us for coffee and desserts.

STEP STUDIES:
Step studies for women and for men currently meeting on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. in the church annex building. Contact Pastor Sam at 738-6840 for more information on these 12-step studies designed to bring recovery from life’s hurts, hang-ups, and habits. We also have a Women’s Step study that meets on Tuesday mornings at 9:00 a.m.

WHAT IS CELEBRATE RECOVERY?

We’ve all been hurt by other people, we’ve hurt ourselves, and we’ve hurt others. As a result, every one of us ends up with some sort of hurt, hang-up, or habit. But the question we all face is this: Where do we go from here?

The purpose of Calvary Baptist Church’s Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the “8 Recovery Principles."  This experience allows us to “be changed.”  We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our lives’ problems. By working and applying these biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually.

We become fee from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program, we discover our personal, loving, and forgiving Higher Power: Jesus Christ, the One and Only true Higher Power.

WHO IS CR FOR?

You do not need to be a member of Calvary Baptist Church to attend. There is no pre-registration or sign-up necessary. CR is a volunteer program. You may choose to participate in all that is offered or simply attend the main program from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Simply come as you are...
